It may be easy for some to decide what to blog about, but others may find it more challenging.
Online blogs are great way to share life experiences, explore a hobby, raise awareness, express passion for a subject that you are interested in, or even as a way to earn an income.
A strong niche will help your blog stand out from all the others, but it will also help keep readers interested and loyal.
Here are some ideas to think about when starting a blog:
Choose a Subject You Have The Knowledge and Passion for –
It is very helpful to have at least some knowledge on a subject before blogging about it. Readers who search for topics online are likely to have an interest in what they are reading about. Blogs are a great way of providing a reader with information, experience, and help in a desired topic. You will want to ensure that you are on topic and up to date with your information to keep them coming back for more.
Passion is also important when considering what to blog about. True passion is obvious and can be seen, touched, and smelt in the words you write and gives your readers a much more enjoyable experience. If you are enthusiastic about your topic this will reflect in your writing, connecting with readers and making them want to come back for more.
Here are some examples and tips of subjects that may make the perfect niche for you:
Personal lifestyle –
Personal lifestyle can be a great niche to consider – it has the most potential to be unique and different. Whether you are traveling around the world, want to raise awareness of an illness or social situation, looking to raise money for a cause, or even if you’re just a plan old busybody, there will be people out there who will relate to you.
A hobby or Interest –
Blogging is also a perfect way to share about your hobby or interest. You’ll be able to connect with others who share the same hobbies or interests. Whether it’s sports, animals, employment, photography or something special, there will be lots of people out there who share your passion and want to be your readers and subscribers.
Weird Stuff –
Weird stuff has the potential to be different, funny, gross, strange and interesting. Since it’s such a broad topic, you’ll always have something to talk about. Be very careful with inappropriate content such as adult content, violence or any illegal activity that could get you in trouble.
Debates can be a great topic to interact with readers and can be fun if used appropriately. Add links, images, and videos… and get people involved. Remember to keep it appropriate. You don’t want to damage your reputation, or to build up too much anger.
Viral Videos –
People love videos, especially those that have meaning. You can build a collection of videos and write about them. If you find really good videos, you also have the advantage that many people will want to share them.
Starting a blog can be a little scary and not so easy. I hope this post will assist you in figuring out what you want to blog about.
These topics are great even if you’re looking to monetize your blog. By writing content that is interesting to people, you’ll keep them coming back time and time again. When you provide value to people, they are interested in what you have to recommend. So then you can add something in the p.s. at the bottom of the blog about that great new product you would like them to see.

p.s. Storytelling is hot these days, with good reason. People fall in love with engaging, moving, dramatic, funny, or inspiring stories. That's what they remember, what they share with others. Don't be afraid to get personal. The more emotion you can bring to your writing, the better.
